In 1959 General Motor's crop of convertibles reached for the stars with a series of outlandish designs that should have been orbiting the moon. Even though the 59 designs were radical they would have been much worse. The 1959 Impala was clean, smooth and very sharp. They were also generally wider and considerably longer, especially when compared to the 1958 Impala it was 11 inches longer. The 1959 Impala Sport Coupe from the winged shaped rear deck to the simple grille, this car was "fresh, fine and fashionable" according to Chevrolet advertisement.
