1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible Project CarYou are viewing a very special 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible project car. With a VIN of VC57T100548, this car is believed to be the first 1957 Chevy Bel Air Convertible to roll off the assembly line at the Tonawanda, NY assembly plant. In addition the body number on the cowl tag is L 72 making it the 72nd body built in Lansing, MI. It is believed by the owners that this Convertible was build by Chevrolet on the first day of the 1957 production year, which was October 1, 1956.

As you can see from the picture, when this car was purchased it was totally rotted out. The frame was still very solid and was rebuilt. The cowl also survived and was used to build the new body.
